Clowder

A group of cats is called a clowder.

Two cats are just a pair. Three or more cats are a clowder.

The term clowder originated from the term, clodder. Clodder is a Middle English term that originated in the late 1700s, and was used to describe a clotted mass. The term evolved over over time to the current word clowder.
