Thousands of dogs go missing every year. Many lost dogs wind up in shelters. Many lost dogs do not have identification. Those with ID or microchip are may be lucky enough to be reunited with their owners.

National Lost Dog Awareness Day is April 23rd. The day was created in 2014 by Susan Taney and Kathy Pobloskie “to increase awareness and help prevent animals from going missing”.
